Automatic Electrostatic Rotary Atomization BELL

Based on our bell-type electrostatic equipment that was developed using Ransburg’s many years of technical know-how, our new 2-component mixing bell is an even more compact, lightweight bell unit.
2-component coating is finally made possible without specialized 2-component mixing equipment by supplying the resin and catalyst separately through a double-feed tube and mixing them together right before the atomization inside the bell cup.
The long-life ultra small air bearing motor employed in the bell rotary drive unit makes superior atomization of all types of paints possible, from general industry paints to high solids-based paints, resulting in a high transfer efficiency.

Electrostatic Rotary Atomization System

The latest electrostatic rotary atomizer provides the state-of-the-art performance in automatic application including superior finishing quality in metallic paint coating.
Supreme finishing quality is achieved in various coating conditions by combining suitable shaping air technology and 4 types of the bell cups.

  • A compact air bearing motor with excellent durability and high-speed rotation performance
    The newly developed compact air bearing motor that produces a stable rotation with 60,000 rpm at the maximum speed is highly durable.
  • Downsizing and weight reduction of bell body
    The valves mounted on the bell body are the same as the previous model (Mark3). By making the diameter of the bell body 25mm smaller 1kg weight reduction was achieved. This reduces the load to the reciprocator and contributes to the improvement of the durability.
  • The shaping air mechanism affecting finishing quality
    The internal structure of the previous model was revised for better dispersibility of the shaping air to obtain uniform spray pattern. With the variable pattern type 40mm bell cap the spray pattern size is controlled by the dual shaping air mechanism depending on the various sized workpieces. This reduces overspray and leads to reduction of paint usage.
  • Cascade excels in safety
    Adopting a built-in cascade that does not require the routing of high voltage cable allows easier routing of low voltage cable, and improves safety by suppressing residual electrical charges.
  • Besides RPI type controller, advanced model RIC type high voltage controller is available
    For ensuring safety RIC type high voltage controller that offers a superior level of safety is optionally available along with RPI type high voltage controller that immediately shuts off high voltage supply when detecting an error such as overcurrent and voltage cable breakage.
  • The bell cup variations support a variety of application
    Applicator model can be selected from 4 types of bell cups and 3 types of shaping air rings depending on user needs for application consisting of a variety of paints including metallic paints and various sized workpieces.

    • A newly developed high-voltage controller controls current and voltage values at high speed to ensure electrostatic coating while maintaining safety.(Patented)
      *The new CB (Current Buffer) curve function prevents overcurrent and greatly reduces line stoppages due to high voltage abnormalities.
      *The actual coating efficiency is greatly improved by maintaining proper electrostatic effect even when the coating machine is close to the workpiece.
    • A newly developed cascade built into the bell provides a quick response to high voltages that was previously impossible. (Patented)
    • By responding sensitively to minute changes in current, it avoids thick film on convex areas and thin film on concave areas to achieve a uniform finish, even on complexly shaped workpieces.
  • Conventional Coating and Proximity Coating can be Realized with a Single Bell
    • The distance between the coating machine and the object to be coated can range from 50 mm to 250㎜ and depending on the shape of the object to be coated, either conventional coating or proximity coating can be selected.
    • In the case of proximity coating, its theoretical coating efficiency is 100%. Actual coating efficiency for various shapes is expected to improve by 15% to 20% compared to conventional coating. (Our laboratory results)
  • Supports various coating conditions
    • Metallic painting by proximity coating is also available.
      *High transfer efficiency prevents aluminum fragments in the metallic paint from scattering, resulting in a high-brightness finish.
    • A wide variety of shaping air rings and bell cups are available to select an application pattern that meets the finish requirements.
  • Cost Reduction
    • High transfer efficiency contributes to the reduction of paint usage, touch-up works, waste disposal, maintenance costs such as cleaning of painting facilities.
    • Initial costs, operating costs, and equipment maintenance and management costs in the coating process can be widely reduced.

An ultra high gun tip effective voltage of -100kv is now a reality!

In addition to making an ultra high voltage of -100kV possible for the gun tip’s effective voltage (the voltage which directly influences coating performance), we have also adopted a newly developed controller which always maintains this voltage at a uniform level. Along with higher paint transfer efficiency, stabilized finishing quality is ensured.

As well as improving maintenance performance by mounting the paint valve directly onto the gun body, by choosing the paint valve to be installed, you can easily construct the paint system which matches your purpose such as automatic cleaning or high-speed color change.

  • Improved efficiency
    The high performance cascade built in to the body boosts the applied voltage, which is directly related to coating efficiency, to -100kV.
    The wrap-around effect (the effect where charged paint wraps around the painted object, coating it right around to the reverse side) which is a feature of electrostatic coating, is maximized, resulting in superior paint transfer efficiency and contributing to less paint waste.
  • A more stable coating quality
    Our newly developed high voltage controller has a new function that works to keep voltage at the gun tip at a uniform level, ensuring a more stable finishing quality.
  • Higher safety
    Through use of the controller(RIC-800), which has over 10 safety detectors (including an Absolute sensitivity detector (CL), Slope sensitivity detector (SL), Fixed voltage abnormality detector (CVE), and Current buffer detector (CB)), not only is finishing quality made more stable, but electrostatic coating safety is also improved.
  • Easier to use
    By structuring the paint gun so that the trigger valve and the dump valve are located directly on the gun body, paint passage cleaning and other maintenance operations are made much easier, and as CCV(Color Change Valve) allows high speed cleaning, paint waste is kept to a minimum, resulting in reduction of cleaning solvents.
